The Healing Power of Gratitude
Our mind is so powerful it creates the world we live in. What we think is what we create. As the Buddha once said; “All we are is the result of all we have thought… all things can be mastered by mindfulness.” If we think negative thoughts, the Universe will always mirror this back to us. If we think positive thoughts of love, acceptance and gratitude, the Universe rearranges itself to manifest these feelings into matter.
God never judges its own creation. The moment we judge, we separate our self from our divine nature and move into pain and suffering. So being grateful and thanking the creator for everything in our reality (the good and the bad), opens up a positive feeling in the physical body which raises our vibration to a level where pain and suffering cannot exist. Gratitude is therefore a powerful healing tool of the mind. The very feeling of gratitude is the vibration that transforms our pain and liberates our soul. When we live in a reality where every thought, feeling and action is rooted in gratitude towards the creator for everything that comes our way, we live in an enlightened state of being. We fill our mind, body and soul with light. Over time, this light changes our brain, heals our trauma and re-programs our cellular memory to operate in alignment with Universal Intelligence.
When we hold onto judgmental, critical and negative thoughts about self or others, we only fill our body with heavy, angry, toxic feelings resulting in physical and emotional trauma. If you really think about it, the desire to hurt another person only fills YOUR body, emotions and life with YOUR hurt and anger. Although this response may seem justified at times, you must be aware that what is being justified is self-abuse. The abuse is not coming from the actions of another person (this is the victim perspective) - the abuse is coming from the way you are reacting to the actions of others.
We are all here on this planet to learn, grow and evolve. No-body is perfect and we all make mistakes. This is why it is so important not to judge but to forgive and accept self and others. It is really important to use the attitude of gratitude to create love and positive feelings in your world because your feelings affect everybody around you, including your children. If you hold anger and grudges and see yourself as a victim of circumstance, you telepathically traumatize everyone in your world and this is the legacy and imprint you shall leave behind for generations to come. Creating a legacy of love however, starts with taking responsibility for your own cr

eations. You must realize that you are the host of your own thoughts, feelings and physical pains. You are the Creator and it’s your choice how you wish to react to any given situation – you carry that power inside of you. If you choose to entertain the negative, you are the one who hurts and suffers the most. If you choose to entertain the positive and go with the attitude of gratitude, you are the one who creates harmony and joy for yourself and all those who come into contact with you.
Every morning and evening thank the creator for all the gifts that it brings to you everyday – the good and the bad. Say out loud, “Great Spirit, thank you for my family, for the food I eat and for the bed I sleep in. Thank you for my recent car accident – I know there is a teaching in it for me and I look forward to receiving it.” Get in the habit of thanking the creator for absolutely everything in your reality.
By being thankful you are claiming your divinity and seeing things the way God sees things – through eyes of loving acceptance… only ever acknowledging the perfection in all things at all times, no matter how scary the reflection may be. When you fully see and own this divine truth, you cannot help but be grateful for all the things that you have created, even if they are painful, because you understand on a deep level that you have created these circumstances to learn and grow. And the quicker you forgive and accept your creations, the quicker you heal and evolve. As Lewis B. Smedes once wrote; “To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you…” So the attitude of gratitude, if applied to every single thing in your world, has the power to reconnect you to your divine nature and to re-create your body and life……..
