Hello and welcome to the Spirit Guides.co.uk network radio show with your host, Mark Chatterton. Today we are pleased to welcome on the show Derek Acorah, one of Britain’s best known mediums who is a well known face on TV. Derek has been practising as a medium for over forty years now and has become famous not just in the UK, but also in America, The Middle East and Australia, fronting such programmes as Most Haunted, Derek Acorah’s Ghost Towns and Paranormal Egypt. He is also the author of several books on the paranormal detailing the many experiences he has had over the years. He is now currently touring the UK with his Eternal Spirits Tour and has kindly taken a break in the tour to talk to us today. So welcome to the Spirit Guides Radio show Derek.
You were born in Liverpool in 1950. Can you remember much about what it was like growing up there?
When you were a child you had your first psychic experience seeing the spirit of your grandfather. Can you tell us about that experience?
When you were you a teenager you became a professional footballer first with Wrexham FC and then with Liverpool FC. Did you think that you had made it in life and your life was all mapped out for you then?
Over the years you’ve become quite a well known face on television. Which do you prefer, doing the television programmes or being out on the road with your shows?
Of all the different TV shows you’ve done, which has been your most favourite?
I read in one of your books about a Spirit who had passed over and his wife had gone against his wishes and had him cremated when he wanted to be buried. So spirits know what’s going on down here?
You also do a lot of work with animals. How do the spirits of animals differ from those of humans?
You’re currently on tour all over Britain with your Eternal Spirits tour. How’s that going?
There was a lot of talk last year about the year 2012 being a year of great change and many people believed 21st December 2012 was going to be a special day. Obviously its been and gone and we’re now in the year 2013.
Do you see the future as one of hope or are we always going to be in a mess as some people would have us believe?
Finally, what are your future plans?
