What is the desire for the religious or spiritual experience? I think the human brain has a mechanism to try to comprehend part of the activity beyond our rational comprehension. After all our rational comprehension science recognises allows us to make sense of a universe at a level we can all agree to a certain extent on filtering out the vast majority of what happens, so we don’t use much of our brain and scientists call most of the universe dark energy, and say there could well be 11 dimensions. But for us to develop the use of more of our brain there must be some whos attemot to venture into the incomprehensible, spiritual, mystical and this is what religion prys on as this is not actually doing this by following somebody who did thousands of years ago. However buddism allows its followers to develop through meditation experience of the rationale un-rationale realm. But I mean if you saw something 4 dimensional youd see something appear get bigger and then disappear and this would not make rational sense rationally to your society but and you could even be told your ‘mad’ however more tolerant socities with more liberal spiritual traditions such as those with shamans accept those that have these paranormal experiences as not to be locked up like in the west but to be learned form and they become shamans. I think it must be remembered at all costs that what is experienced is theory and could well be phenomenon we can learn from which is simply incomprehensible to the rationalist mind, but most importantly it must be remembered that it could well not be and that also the filtering of our mind to genetically and culturaly raise us to not widen our minds quite to these incomprehensible activities is important as if we didn’t have this we would be unable to function, yet without those who do experience the paranormal activities and if there not listened to human kind cannot evolve to greater intelligence. As Terence mckenna said the world isn’t some crossword to be solved by scientists and sociologists but it’s a mystery that’s it.
