There is nothing more super natural than the supernatural, the word says it all!
Did you know that dictionary definition of the word “weird” means “connected to fate”? This is why I always smile and say thank you, when someone calls me weird.
The dictionary also gives more credence to our imagination than we do, hailing it as the bridge between the subconscious and conscious, allowing information of the unseen to come forth.
So isn’t it time we came back to Earth and stopped being all woo woo, about the woo woo?
The only woo woo that exists is the person feeling all woo woo!
Lets take the book of life ( aka Tarot ) one of the most ancient parts of our culture. The archetypes painted upon the cards are the gods, goddesses, planets and stars pictured for us to gaze upon as mirrors. In them we see our place in the universe. They are little post-it reminders of our soul’s path, an infinite reflection on the opportunities and possibilities within and surrounding us.
Yet we test, fear and judge it. Judgment takes us out of the heart and into fear — the exact opposite of love. But Tarot is love from the universe in pictures. We just need to understand it. When we have understanding, then confusion, pain and fear no longer exist. We wake up; see clearly, and only then do we discover our true free will. This is the gift the Tarot offers us, IF we understand how to connect with it.
When you truly connect with the Tarot your understanding of emotions, experiences, intuition, people, places, situations in your life skyrockets.
Not only that but life becomes full of synchronicity and magic as you immerse yourself in the rhythm (book) of life.
The only reason the Tarot has the power to predict is because it mirrors back to us the predictable patterns we get stuck in. If it has the power to reveal our patterning – then it also has the ability to make us aware of our patterning, and not only that – but we can ask how to change it! How fabulous is THAT?
Yet we don’t tend to approach it with questions that empower us, such as –
What do I need to be aware of here?
What do I need to heal here?
How can I best heal the situation?
What’s the purpose of this lesson?
What do I need to learn in order to progress?
What does it look like if I take this course of action?
No! Most of the time the questions are –
Will he come back to me?
Will he leave his wife?
Is my partner having an affair?
What is she/he thinking/feeling?
When will (whatever is being hoped for) happen?
None of those questions are internal based, they are all external.
All the time the focus is on the external nothing really changes, we just go round in our same patterning.
Most people forget to ask Tarot empowering questions and ask fear-loaded questions instead. Asking fear-loaded questions for reassurance just breeds disempowerment and obsessive anxieties. This is not only the case if the Tarot is mirroring the fear, but also applies
if it is mirroring the desire. Either way, it creates attachment, attachment creates imbalance, imbalance creates dis-harmony, dis-harmony creates dis-ease and dis-ease is disempowerment, a very slippery slope indeed.
I wish that when pregnant at nineteen and seeing that my daughter would die, I had thought to ask why, what was causing it, and the best way forward. But instead I felt doomed, paralysed by the fear of the prediction. Remember the Tarot doesn’t want your power, it’s you that ends up giving your power to theTarot.
Tarot reflects back to the questioner the patterns they are stuck in, so more important than the power to predict, is the Tarot’s power to wake us up. Instead of looking upon what is shown as a fearsome prediction, we can look upon it as a mirror where the questioner can see and understand their patterns clearly. When we take out the fear, it becomes useful. It gives us the clarity to raise our awareness and consciousness, leading to understanding and empowerment through free will. The Tarot mirrors our cycle of life, it just goes round and round, like our own predictive patterning. That is the only way The Tarot predicts and if we look at it as a mirror and change ourselves the reflection will change.
This leads me on to one of the most commonly asked questions:
If I see something in the Tarot I can change it, right?
Yes, you can, but only if you see it clearly enough to know why it is there in the first place and truly understand that. If you don’t understand why you are behaving the way you are then your consciousness is still relatively asleep, and whilst it is asleep it will continue in the same rhythm regardless of your efforts to change it. Free will only exists when we are awake. This is where the Tarot comes into its own. If you don’t understand a particular pattern then ask the Tarot to tell you about it. If you don’t know the best way forward ask the Tarot to show you. The Tarot is here to help you understand the rhythm of life, it is a map of liberation, a maze to freedom, and once it is unlocks, the freedom and magic it will open up for you will amaze you.
