It is also a tale of infidelity of an queen, perfidy of a woman scorned, fury of a husband and father betrayed, chastity and innocence of a loyal son - all a result of competition and jealousy between two goddesses for affection of one human. If it sounds like a Greek tragedy, it is. There are wheels within wheels of emotions and actions as humans struggle to balance passion and compassion.


HAIKU, Maui, Nov 10 - The story you’re about to hear is probably unlike any other story you have ever heard. It is a tragedy that was staged 2,440 years ago in the City of Dionysus under Acropolis in Athens, Greece. The actual events took place long before that - in Athens, on the island of Crete and in the land of the Amazon (in Asia Minor, today’s Turkey).

Yet it is an unfinished play. It is still unfolding today, Nov 10, 2011, on the island of Maui in Hawaii.

This epic and timeless story shows how real life can sometimes mimic theater. And how a myth can become a reality with real flesh and blood, tears, pain and suffering. And redemption, too.

Let’s start with the latest chapter here in Maui before go back and revisit some earlier ones....
